The Journey Continues...

The Journey Continues….

We are back!

We officially have a new transfer date and my IP’s and I couldn’t be more excited. We have an embryo transfer scheduled for July 28th! Our fertility clinic, CCRM, temporarily suspended transfers due to COVID-19 and the unknowns of how this virus would affect pregnant people. However, our reproductive endocrinologist informed us that ACOG (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists) released a new study showing that COVID-19 wasn’t causing any higher risks on pregnant women and their unborn children so they felt confident in reopening.

After my first suppression check last week at CCRM to check my uterus to make sure there are no cysts or other concerns, I have started medication again and this time we don’t have to do Lupron shots, which I am really excited about because they made me feel horrible! They call it menopause in a bottle! So now I am taking Estradiol 2x a day and baby aspirin 1x a day. Medication outline is as such:

  • 7/15: I’ll have a lining check at CCRM and increase my Estradiol to three times a day!

  • 7/22: Another lining check and COVID-19 testing (eek! I heard how scary that test is!) and I’ll continue on the Estradiol and start another pill that is inserted vaginally.

  • 7/23: I’ll start the progesterone shots. These are the not so fun shots in the butt!

  • 7/24: Is the final pill I’ll insert into the medication rotation and then finally….

  • 7/28 EMBRYO TRANSFER!!!

In between my appointments, I will also be seeing my acupuncturist and chiropractor to ensure my body is ready for a smooth transfer. If this transfer is successful, I will be pregnant and carry my IP’s baby for 9 months. If COVID is still prevalent in April of 2021, we will have a whole new set of challenges to overcome….like who is allowed in the hospital room with me! Right now my birth team is my IP’s, my husband and my doula so we will have to figure that out when the time comes!

I hope this gives a more detailed look into a surrogacy journey and that you will continue on this journey with me!

Come back next week for a update on my next lining check!
