Third Trimester—The Final Stretch!

Hello all! When I started this surrogacy journey, I imagined being able to document the whole journey with you all as much as possible. I did not know that it would be in a pandemic while working and doing virtual school with my kids! I am TIRED!!! But let’s dive into some updates.

I am currently 28 weeks pregnant and my belly is heavy! The baby moves alllll the time and it is really hard for me to sleep at night, but besides that, all is well. I still need to check my blood pressure, but at my last OB appointment it was 132 which both me and my OB were happy about! It is still always normal at home in the 120’s.

One of the main issues we are currently dealing with is hospital red tape.

Right now, my hospital is only allowing one support person in the room with you the day of the birth. That is going to be my husband for the simple fact that he will be the one to make life altering decisions for me in the event that I can’t. However, we can’t seem to find out or get permission on if the intended parents will be able to come to the hospital after the birth to get their own postpartum room in order to take care of their baby. This is typically the standard, where the IP’S get their own room with baby, but since there is currently a pandemic, things are not the same. My case manager, Morgan, at CFC is working hard to locate someone at my hospital to get answers and advocate for us all, but its proving to be a challenge!

I still get the question “are you feeling any attachment to baby now that they are moving and kicking?” and the answer remains: NOPE!

Lol! I am happy to be providing this baby girl with a safe home to incubate in but I am very much looking forward to handing her to her dads and getting a mini vacation in the hospital with relaxation, room service and no kids!

This is all I have for now, I will be back with a update as soon as I have more information!

Happy New Year!
