Surrogacy, IVF and COVID-19

After months of waiting…

…finally getting a transfer date, and starting meds, our frozen embryo transfer has been cancelled. Due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic our fertility clinic, CCRM, has decided it would be safer to postpone our transfer for two months. This news was both difficult and frustrating for my IFs and I, however, we know that what matters most is the safety of the baby and myself. I have stopped taking all meds except birth control and will start back up once I get a new transfer date from CCRM.

The decision came from our reproductive endocrinologist (RE) who stated that the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) was suggesting the postponing of transfers due to the virus and lack of information on how it affects pregnant women. While my RE stated that they were pushing it back 2 months, that, of course, could change.

I hope that everyone is staying safe and social distancing from each other so we can all get back to life as normal, as soon as possible. Take care everyone, be sure to check back soon!
